Flipping Cute

Baker is a little monkey in so many ways.  He turns absolutely everything into a jungle gym and has learned to do little flip now.  Here's a little video that I took of him one day after I got him up from his nap.  He was going completely hog wild, as if he woke up on speed or something.  Next thing I know, he's flipping over.  I went to grab the camera and I think he may have done it once more but you can see just how crazy he woke up!

Party Time

We took Baker to his school buddy's 3rd birthday party yesterday and he had so much fun!  Baker and Parker are bosom buddies and their teachers say they are right by each other's side all day long at school.  So we knew that he would have the best time.  Parker also has a love for diggers so when Baker got to his house, he was in a sea of digger trucks...his dream!  Between the icing and the diggers, he was in heaven!

Playing diggers alongside another partygoer.
Having fun during a little game.
Baker and Parker sharing a stool and an entire bowl of chips!

Baker has his eye on Parker's Thomas cake.
Parker proceeds to take the train and push it through the cake...hahaha!
It wasn't long before the two of them both had their fingers in the cake.  I won't tell you that he pooped blue after this!
Blue lips and messy hands.  What's a party without a mess?

Icing makes these guys happy.
Look mom!
After the party was over, Parker wanted to show Baker his room upstairs but it soon into a little dance party. Parker can really bust a move!

Short Trip to NC

We had the chance to make a quick visit to NC two weeks and jumped on it.  We were so excited to see my family and Baker, as always, couldn't wait to see his cousins.  We usually don't get to see them but twice a year so this was a fun, unexpected trip!

Being such a big boy at Midway airport.  He was proud to pull his own suitcase, Woody of course.  And was even trying to put it on the scale to check it in...haha.
We had a fun surprise when we got to the airport!  Brad's Aunt Sherrie and Uncle Buster met us there for a little visit.  It was so great to see them!
He loves his cousins - Baker, Drew and Seth (Ben is MIA).
I couldn't choose which picture I liked the best so I'm posting both!  B's face is so sweet in this one.
Shannon made cupcakes to celebrate a late birthday for Baker and Brad.  Of course this made Baker very happy!
Here they both are with icing on their face.  Can't take them anywhere.  :)
And then we had to say goodbye which is not easy for Baker.  He does not understand why he can't stay and play with the boys.  Thankfully, Shannon had the genius idea of bribing him to the car with a piece of gum and he had no issues!  He didn't know what to do with it but he took it!
When we arrived to Chicago, our car service, yet again, provided a limo for us.  The strangest thing.  They must run out of regular cars often cause we are sure not the limo kind of client, but we'll take it!  :)
This is the way Bleeker rolls.  Actually, we picked up Bleeker from the boarder on the way back home.
Splish Splash

Every kid has to learn to bathe themselves at some point, and while we are not trying to rush things, we're trying to teach Baker the basics.  He's so darn cute when he does it and really thinks he's doing a good job.  Of course, we bathe him first, or afterwards, but he really thinks he's helping out.  So here's a little video of him attempting it but it's his funny little remarks that are the highlights!

Bawentime's Day

Poor Baker was really sick during Valentine's Day but one thing perked him up...getting to open his V Day gifts!  See the little video below of him opening his happy with his crazy bedhead.

That morning, as soon as he got up, he got his Valentine's Day happy from us.  He loved his new recorder!
Sporting his undies and wellies and looking so cute!
Doing a little dance and loving on Bleeker.  Poor Bleeker doesn't look like he's enjoying this one much.
Just a few days before V Day, Baker started this new fear of the dark.  Literally happened overnight, no warning or anything.  Now, he has to sleep with his door open and he would prefer lights on but we're trying not to start him on that.  So, V Day week, I bought him a Mobi nightlight to sleep with.  The first night he didn't care too much for it but I think it's because he was sick.  Now, he loves it and has to have it with him when he sleeps!
The next day, I went to the Oprah Show!!  This is me sporting my O!  What fun I had and feel so lucky to have experienced it in her last season!  Of course, as most of you know, the taping I had was horribly depressing but at least I got to go!
Two days later, a college friend, Chad Hall, flew up because he and another friend, Jenn, also got tickets to go to O!  How weird is that?  So we got to have dinner with him the night before...that was great fun!

Brad's Birthday!

We celebrated Brad's birthday on Feb 11th, what Brad would call the best day of the year.  Baker really got into it this year and wanted to give him a present, only it was a box of his own toys, which he insisted that daddy had to share with him. ;)  We surprised him with a cookie cake when he got home from work and Baker sang to him, inching closer and closer to the cake so he could blow out the candle and in the hopes he could get a bite of it!  Here's a little video montage:

Digging in

A day earlier, Baker wrapped and put together his present for Brad.  Just look at this wrapping job...perfection.
What is it?
Wow, toys!  Just what daddy always wanted.  So sweet.
Chicago Auto Show

My friend Amy won two tickets to the car show and we were lucky enough to be asked to join her and little Max.  I have never been to a show like this before so I was really excited and didn't know what to expect.  It was really fabulous but had me wanting so many cars...I had no idea how much I loved cars until this!  And who knew that this is the biggest auto show in North America?  It was great!

Mini "Chips" thinking they are cool stuff playing in this police car!
Policeman Baker had to have his turn at the wheel.
Baker enjoyed this taxi quite a bit!  Of course, he loved getting in all of the cars that were there!
Wearing our 3D glasses while we watched some little video.  It wasn't until I uploaded these pics that I saw how he was posed...so cute, though I know he wasn't intending on looking so dapper!
While we were in a cab on our way to the show, Baker asked if McQueen would be there.  I told him no.  After an hour or so of being there, we turned the corner and I heard him screem, "McQueen mommy!  McQueen!"  He was elated!  What a surprise to find both McQ and Tow Mater there!  If this is any indication of what Disney will be like, it's going to be a great trip!
I've always wanted to sit in a Smart Car. They are surprisingly spacious!
Checking out the Jeep display.  We desperately wanted to do this but Baker was too small.
I thought this Honda was pretty cool!
Of course, we had to go back to see McQueen again.
Brad's client is State Farm so some folks on his team came up with this idea.
What a cute Mini Cooper!  I'd love one of these!
I mean, how cute are the side view mirrors?
This pretty much sums up our trip to the car show.
And this too.  :)  Such cuties!
Playing peek-a-boo in the back of a Buick Enclave.  I'd love to have this car!
Posing in front of a cake display that Tipsy Cake was making on the spot!
Baker getting chummy with one of the car models!  She played cars with him so he thought she was great.
I saved the best car for last...this is one amazing car!!!  The paint job on this Infinity is just breathtaking, so much more so in person!
