Just look at that face!
At the marina
Our other baby!
Photoshoot outside...isn't he a cool dude? Thanks for the sunglasses Nana and Papa!
I love how they slide down his nose!!
At least somebody thinks I'm funny!
Getting really good at grabbing things.

A Day In the Sun
Today was glorious in DC! Sunny skies and 80 degrees made the perfect recipe for a stroll. I took Baker down to the marina for the second time, yesterday was the first but I forgot my camera, so we went back today and I got some pics of him with the boats and the water. Of course, he was asleep but that's okay. I'm sure he enjoyed it!

He isn't wearing a hair piece!
Baker with his friend Claire.
Molly and I with the kiddos at Le Pain for lunch.
"Don't mess with me or else!" Looking a little scary here.
Doing very good with his tummy time...better take a picture now!
LOVING his mobile
"I'm 11 weeks old!" Wearing his Easter outfit.
Figured we might as well try to get one more wear out of it.
It's already like capris on him.
His very serious face
"Daddy, you're so funny!"

11 Weeks Old!
It's so hard to beleive that Baker is almost 3 months old! It really doesn't feel like we've had him home that long and seems just like yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital. Time is flying! He is cooing so much and something else that we've discovered is how much he LOVES the mobile in his crib. I kind of thought that it might have been a waste of money in the beginning but he has proved me wrong. He can lay on his tummy propped up with the Boppy pillow and stare at it forever. I caught him talking and smiling to it yesterday...it was very sweet! He certainly is growing, as is his buddah belly, and his personality gets cuter everyday. We celebrated his 11 week birthday with our friends Molly and Claire! Nothing like lunch and shopping!

Mr. Perky
His new thing is sucking on his hands. He's always done this when
he was hungry, but he seems to do it when he's sleepy too. It's really cute to watch.
He's a genius, what can we say?
Daddy is getting some sugar!
Sucking on Brad's nose, seriously sucking!!
So Sleepy
I was getting ready to go to my MOPs group this morning so I had Baker on his floor gym, which he loves by the way. I had picked him to play with him and he started getting fussy but I could tell he was fighting sleep. Everyone always said that we would eventually start to figure out what cries mean what and I feel like we totally can now...we have a way to go but we're definitely getting better with it. When Baker does start to fall asleep during his wake time, all we have to do is lay him on his gym and he usually perks up. Well, he started to get even more fussy but he wasn't really crying, it was more like talking with a few cries here and there. It was quite funny so I grabbed the camera and started taping it...he's just too cute! I loved it and I'm sure you'll find it funny too!

The family at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and the Cherry Blossoms
Mommy with Baker
Baker is really enjoying this trip! Can't you tell?
The Jefferson Memorial surrounded by Cherry Blossoms
Beautiful!
The Washington Monument
Brad and I in front of some really old tree. Everyone else
was getting their picture taken in front of it, so why shouldn't we??
Sweet feet.
Decked out for church
I'm ready!
These brothers love each other! Yeah right, Bleeker thinks, "Baker, who's Baker?"

Cherry Blossom Festival and Party at the Hooke's
The Cherry Blossom Festival started last weekend in the District, so Brad and I decided to venture out to see them yesterday. I think everyone else decided to the same thing because they're so many people out there! The 3,000 cherry blossoms were given to DC as a gift by the Japanese in 1912 and are all over the Tidal Basin and the along the Potomac River by the Jefferson Memorial. They are just beautiful! It's like a sea of pink everywhere. Though we live only about 4 miles away, we thought we would drive and park somwhere. Well, that somewhered ended up being at the Kennedy Center which seemed like forever a way! We got a nice walk with the baby in his stroller and burned several calories I'm sure! After getting there and seeing all the blooms, we had to walk back!! Ah! It was worth it though. Next time, we'll take the Metro. We had to take Baker to his 1st Cherry Blossom Festival...I'm sure there will be many more to come. We're just so glad we decided to go despite what the weather men said the day was going to be like, full of rain, but as you can see from the pictures, it was gorgeous and close to 70! Perfect for a nice stroll!

Then today, we had a party for our Sunday School class at the Hooke's house. Lots of couples from our class came and we just hung out with some good food. It was a great time to be inside since anything outdoors would have been a wash out with the weather. Enjoy the pics!

Major Correction

Okay, so I was just notified by Brad that on the last posting, I said that Baker is 10 months old! He is clearly not that old yet so I corrected it with 10 weeks. Sorry if I confused any of you! Maybe it's because he's so darn smart that I think he's 10 months...ha! My apologies for the mistake.

So sweet.
He most certainly is ADORABLE!
Finger toes...he loves to have them curled up.

Baker is 10 Weeks Old!
Today marks the 10th week that we have been blessed to have Baker in our lives! What an amazing time it has been and what a gift we have been given. There isn't much else to report since yesterday but I did take a few pictures today and one video. The video is of Baker trying to fall asleep. He started a new schedule yesterday that requires us to keep him awake for 2 hours after he naps for 2 hours and let me tell you, it's not always easy! But he's a champ and is doing great! So, I filmed him today as he was sitting in my lap trying so hard to go to sleep (it was only a few minutes before I was going to lay him down). He gets his eyes closed and then he reopens them...he was fighting it very hard! He's so stinkin' cute and sweet...Brad and I just adore him!!

Holding on to his rattle...yes, I put it in his hand
but he held it for a while.

The Many Faces of Baker
We've learned over the past 2 1/2 months (yes, can you believe he's that old?) that Baker has many facial expressions! This morning, I couldn't resist putting him in his alligator sleeper that Anna and Jeff passed down to him from Charlie. It was just too cute and Baker looks precious in it! So what did I have to do once he was dressed? You guessed it...a photo shoot! Throughout the "shoot", Baker made many faces that I didn't notice until I had uploaded them to the computer. Below is a video of him from this morning trying so hard to sit up as he weeble wobbles all over the place! So, here they are, all compiled for your viewing pleasure! :o)

Baker getting a foot washing from Bleeker.
His first day in the Bumbo chair...he's not too sure about it.
"Ah, that's better! Anything that works!" :o)
"Oooh, I'm pretty good at this!"
Giving Anna the sweet face
Bleeker looking like he's in heaven, on our new chair that is!
Some outdoor time with the baby.
"Do you have to pose me for this? I don't like this chair so much."
"Ah, that's nice. I think I like being outside."
Look at that cute bum!

It's Bumbo Time!
Well, things are still going great in the Blackmon household. We had a great weekend with a visit from Jeff and Anna on Friday night and a sushi picnic on our living room floor. On Saturday we just did some shopping. We really have to be strategic with our outings now that we have a little one. We can't just leave and go somewhere. We really have to take into consideration Baker's schedule, thinking that it's best to go out when it's his nap time because he sleeps as soon as he's put in his stroller but also knowing that 2 hours later we'll have to feed him. So everything has to be thought out thoroughly before we hit the road! We needed to load up on baby supplies so we hit Babies R Us for a shopping spree. It's amazing how crowded that store is every time we go in there...there is clearly a baby boom! We got Baker a Bumbo chair so that he can practice sitting up. His neck is getting so strong that we thought it might be a good idea. We have to be right there with him when we sit him in it because he tends to slump over but he just looks so cute and like a little boy!

We took a family stroll when we got back because the weather was so nice. Bleeker always seems to enjoy our walks when it's the 4 of us. Sunday we went to church again with Baker. We're so proud of how great he does during the service. It's really not nearly has hard as we thought it was going to be! Last week, I went to MOPs (Moms of Preschoolers) for the first time since Baker was born and I went to my Bible study at church...he does great, just sleeps through it all! So, all in all, it's been a great few days and we're so happy to feel like we are more and more in the loop of things again!
