If you've been following this blog since Baker was a few months old, you might remember that Baker was terrified of the vacuum cleaner. So much that one of us used to have to take him outside or upstairs so that the other could vacuum our living room. It was the noise that scared him. Well, that then evolved into holding him while vacuuming because he didn't like to be alone when it was on. It was a big deal to be able to have in the same room. Well, we still have to do that when it's turned on at first because it startles him but on Saturday, he wanted to be put down and insisted on pushing it while it was on!! That was a HUGE deal! So of course, we praised him for his braveness!
Helping daddy push it.
Wow, he really took on his fear head on! I guess he's finally getting used to the noise!
Okay, so this has nothing to do with vacuums, it's more about bowls. For some reason, several times over the past week, Baker has started putting his plates and bowls on his head. He did this twice yesterday despite me trying to teach him that it's not okay. At least he waits for the food to be gone but it doesn't help when it's fruit juice and it dyes his hair red or ketchup that gets all in his scalp. So, twice yesterday I had to put his head in the kitchen sink in order to rinse it out, therefore tramatizing him because he hated it so much! He was just pitiful but hopefully he'll learn that the consequence of doing so may not be worth it afterall! But it does make for cute pictures! I'll post the ones with ketchup in his hair later!
Video: Baker can be quite dramatic at times...from trying to make you laugh or get a reaction to throwing a tantrum over something that seems so trivial. This particular video is of him fake falling over and over again. He had been doing this for a few minutes prior to me breaking out the camera so he was starting to wind down already but it's still pretty cute. He would go sit on the bottom stair, bounce all over it, and then "fall" down. But he got tired of bouncing at this point and just pretended to fall. I love this kid!
