Baker Walks!

At 13 months, Baker is finally taking those first steps on his own now! For the past month and a half he's been standing on his own, fearful to take a step, walking only three or four steps. We wondered when he would ever break out of that fear...finally he has! Though he mostly crawls at this point, his mode of getting around now consists of both walking and crawling and I'm sure it will take him feeling more confident on his feet before he goes that route entirely. He initiates walking a lot more, as opposed to us teasing him with his favorite toys, and often finds himself going from one place to another on his feet. It's quite funny to watch because sometimes he gets going to fast and can't stop or he goes in circles...he hasn't fully gained control of it yet! He always has the biggest smile on his face when he's walking, as if he were saying "look at me" and acts so proud...it does indeed make us so proud because it's such a huge milestone and will introduce him to so much more of the world around him. I can't wait to see his confidence grow over the next week, not to mention not having the feeling that my back is going to break due to "finger walking" all the time!

We noticed his confidence was much higher than the day before.

Video: Today, he wanted to walk so much more. As you can see from the videos, he has definitely not perfected it, often losing his balance, falling or reaching for the nearest something to grab on to. Poor thing, our house is so small and the living room is so little that he can only go so far!
